The one word description that I can come up for this band? These guys are “fun”. Growing up in the Chicago area you knew you would always be able to see the Midwest talents of Styx, REO Speedwagon, Smashing Pumpkins, and Rockford, IL. favorite sons Cheap Trick. Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander, Tom Petersson, and Bun E. Carlos rocked the world in 1979 with their Live at Budokan album and they have never looked back. They are as fun today to listen to as they were back then. I always enjoyed the classic and custom guitars that Rick would bring out to play. That always made for a cool photo as well. If you get a chance, definitely catch their show, and maybe you’ll catch one of Rick’s guitar pics…he’s been known to throw a few out during a show.
