Metallica Metro show Chicago 1983

What can you say?..this band was the hottest and hungriest traveling arsenal of metal in the 80’s. I was fortunate enough to see the original band and meet up with them at this record instore as well as get several pics from 3 early shows. Look for more as they become available. A few nice pics of the late great Cliff Burton, who was tough to get because of all his flying hair when he played. Shop Live Loud Photos Rare 80's Rock & Roll Concert...

WASP – Aragon Ballroom – Feb. 6, 1987 – Chicago, IL.

These guys were headlining this night over Slayer. They were that popular at the time. The band became very controversial with the PMRC regarding their lyrics and album cover art. They were very entertaining and put on a great stage show. As a photographer they kept me busy. Blackie Lawless was very visual drinking blood from a skull and spitting it out kind of like another famous bass player from KISS. Sure they may have borrowed some ideas from bands like Alice Cooper and KISS, but they put their flair on it, and had some hard rockin songs. As...

Van Halen – Rosemont Horizon – Rosemont, IL. April 22, 1986

This was the first time I saw the band with new frontman Sammy Hagar. I’m still a big fan of the DLR days, but I was never able to keep my camera in the venue for very long or get any pictures. This tour I was able to capture some nice photos of one of my top guitar players ever; Eddie Van Halen. Shop Live Loud Photos Rare 80's Rock & Roll Concert...

Uli Jon Roth – Cabaret Metro – 1985 – Chicago, IL.

Most guitarists know Uli Jon Roth’s work. He was in the Scorpions in the 70’s and then went solo in the 80’s with Electric Sun. It was an amazing show at the intimate Metro venue. It took him 21 years to get back to Chicago playing the House of Blues in 2006. Uli’s solo works at the time of the Metro show was from his albums Electric Sun, Fire Wind, and Beyond the Astral Skies which are all highly recommended listening. Definitely check him out when he tours through your area. Shop Live Loud Photos Rare 80's Rock &...

Dio – UIC Pavilion – Chicago,IL. – Oct. 12,1985

Ronnie James Dio has always been one of the signature “voices” of the Hard Rock genre. This show was no exception. He belted out some of his classic Black Sabbath songs as well as his newer solo material. This tour I believe was his “Last In Line” tour. I had 2nd row and was able to snap off some nice pics of Ronnie and Vivian Campbell. Vivian went on to later join up with Def Leppar Shop Live Loud Photos Rare 80's Rock & Roll Concert...
